Who is the Self-Sufficient Living Course suitable for?

For anyone and everyone! Children 12 years and above are also encouraged to join!

How will this course be taught?

You will learn on-demand through video lessons via our platform and supported through one-on-one private live virtual sessions to complement the onsite learning at Tigabiri Farm.

What do you mean by on-demand learning?

Whether it is learning through the online component or the physical component, you are learning at your own pace! Essentially, you set which days you would like to watch your video lessons, dates for your 1-1 private live virtual sessions and visits for onsite learning at Tigabiri Farm.

 

FAQ - Online Component

ONLINE COMPONENT

What is included in the ‘Online Component’?

You will have access to over 60 video lessons and other resources through our platform. You will also be supported with 3 sessions of 1-1 private live virtual sessions.

How long will I be able to access the video lessons?

You will have 6 months to access the library of video lessons and resources on our platform from the date of registration and payment.

How will the one-on-one live virtual sessions be conducted?

You will have 40 minutes for each private 1-1 session via Zoom

What if I join with a friend?

You can definitely have joint sessions with other registered participants. Shared sessions will be conducted for 1 hour

When will the one-on-one live virtual sessions be conducted?

You will receive a scheduling link to view and book your slots.

How frequent are the one-on-one virtual sessions?

You have the flexibility to pick the dates within a 3 month period depending on your schedule and learning progress.

ONSITE COMPONENT

What is included in the physical component? 

You have 5 days of hands-on learning at Tigabiri Farm

What are the dates available for onsite learning? 

Whenever you can make it! View and book from the scheduling link provided after signing up.

Do I have to complete the 5 days onsite learning in one go? 

You have the flexibility to choose your onsite learning days to suit your schedule. Split it however you wish within the 3 month period to suit your learning needs.

What if the date that is convenient for me is unavailable on the scheduling link?

Email us at courses@tigabiri.com and we will do our best to accommodate you

If I have registered for the Self-Sufficient Living Course and would like to bring my spouse and children for the onsite learning; must we purchase a full course for everyone?

Your spouse and children can register and join you for onsite learning. They do not need to purchase the online component. Children 12 years and above can join. The rate for each additional person is RM 300/day

Is accommodation provided during onsite learning?

There are no accommodation facilities at Tigabiri so it is not included in the course fee. There is a large variety of accommodation options in the farm’s vicinity. We will provide you with a suggested list.  

Is there an itinerary for each day?

There will be a program for the days to include as many hands-on experiences related to the video lessons. The authenticity of self-sufficient living means that no one day is the same from the day before. So, expect the unexpected like the weather

Are meals provided during onsite learning?

Lunch is included. As part of the learning experience, we will prepare lunch together often with fresh harvest from the garden. 

What do I need to prepare for onsite learning?

Arrange your accommodation in advance and do pack essentials for outdoor activities – suitable clothes for outdoors, hat, gardening gloves, insect repellant, sunblock, wet clothes (we have a lovely river outside for an afternoon dip).
